Promoting parish councils

We've had a great response from the East of England Association of Parish and Town Councils to our recent promotional video that we shot for them.
It encourages us all to get out there and get involved in our communities and change things for the better.
Never a better time to get involved, as so much is being de-centralised by the current government to put the local decisions in the hands of local people. That can only be a good thing and we're doing our bit to help communities get the message across. The film will be made available on YouTube shortly and we'll get some clips up online ourselves, too.

New Years Resolutions... early

These are pictures from Lincolnshire County Council's "Community Leaders Celebration", which myself and Martin were delighted to attend.
Many new friends and contacts made. Which got me thinking.
ESP are entering a new chapter, I believe and it seemed a good time to make some positive changes in the form of "new year resolutions" about a month earlier than normal.
We've just had our first AGM and what has come out of that is a desire to get out there and tell the world about what we do.
So that means more blogging!
More networking, especially now as I am officially a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts through my work with ESP.
And generally more getting up there and shouting about what we do!

Busy Busy Busy...

It's been a while since the lasy blog, which is a sign that we're busy!
The screening went well and lots of positive response from our invited guests. The next step is festivals and both Lateshift and Blackspot are in consideration for several. We should hear by August whether we have been successful in any of those.
Witchat has been postponed until the Spring as we need to raise some more finance for that. Despite that small setback, we're still busy on setting up community projects and developing one of our features.
More news soon.

Blackspot

Post production is coming along well and we look forward to showing this with "Lateshift" on May 4th.
E-mail us and we'll put you on the guest list for the free showing and nibbles afterwards

Community Projects

In addition to our films, we're embarking on a new community venture to bring filmmaking to special schools in Lincolnshire. We will be teaching them how to use cameras, sound, lighting and editing equipment to tell stories about their view on the world.
An exciting project, with lots of interest from the special schools in the region. If we get the funding we need, we'll be starting this project in September.

May the 4th be with you...

To all those who are itching to see both "Lateshift" and "Blackspot" we'll be showing them as a special double bill to invited guests on 4th May 2010 at the Odeon, Lincoln. Doors open at 10am for a 10.15 start.
If you'd like to come along, e-mail us at info@erminestreetproject.co.uk and we'll put you on the guest list.
There will be nibbles and reasonably priced champagne at Sparkhouse Studios across the road afterwards.
Hope to see you there!

Blackspot in the can

Despite the wind getting a bit frisky, all went to plan on sunday and we can all breathe a sigh of relief!
What with dealing with road closure permits and cashflow, a lot was hinging on the weather being nice to us. Even bought a gazebo to put up when we were worried it was going to tip it down!
Didn't need it in the end. If we had done, I think it would have taken off! Very gusty on occasions but luckily not quite bad enough to prevent the jib shot from happening.
Production pics will follow soon...

All Systems GO!

I've heard today that Lincolnshire County Council have awarded me funding in order to shoot "Blackspot" in late March.
It took a while to find out, as Royal Mail seem to have filed my letter in some dark corner of the sorting office!
So, action stations! We'll be busy finalising our cast and crew in the next few weeks.

Nearly there

Being trapped in by the weather has its advantages... catching up on blogs and networking sites today.
"Lateshift" is very nearly finshed and we're busy raising funds for the next project and beyond. We shall know by the end of January whether we're successful with our funding application for "Blackspot". If that's approved then it's all systems go for a late March shoot date. Looking to the future, we're hoping to shoot a great little script by Laurence Timms called "Witchcat". He is a Cambridgeshire writer for our first project in our East Anglian branch. We'll have offices up and running for that area by April and we hope to shoot "Witchcat" in the summer/autumn, funding permitting.
Really pleased with the website and we're working on a trailer for "Lateshift" that might be live on the site in the next couple of weeks.
